Leeds Castle

On the last public holiday before Christmas we visited Leeds Castle in Kent.

I’ve wanted to visit the castle for a number of years after a positive review given by sister Kirsty. The castle is situated in a great location. We actually spent more time in the lovely garden surroundings than inside the castle itself.

We arrived at the castle when it was overcast and threatening rain. However within 30 minutes the clouds cleared and the remainder of the afternoon and evening was the perfect English summer day. Hopefully it’s not the last one of the year ; as I write this entry, it’s grey, cold and overcast!

Is there a civilized way to the battlements or do you need resort to being winched up by rope like the bloke in the blue shirt?

We didn’t get a chance to do the Maze, but perhaps if we visit again. Tickets are valid for 12 months….
