Caribbean Trip Days 20 to 25 (The End)

Caribbean Trip End Days.

Day 20. 4th April – 27nm sailing.

St Maarten was the final country we visited before beginning the return journey. It was a short sail from St Barts.

Day 21. 5th April.

We sailed to Orient Bay on the French side of the island for some snorkeling. In the afternoon we began our return journey by sailing back to St Barts.

Day 22. 6th April – 103nm sailing.

We left at 3:30am for a big day of sailing back to Antigua.

Day 23. 7th April.

Some large swells on the sail around Antigua provided the opportunity for riding on the netting at the front of the boat. I’ve not had so much fun in ages! It looks tame but I was holding on tight for a reason!

On the eve of the Australia vs England game we docked in Falmouth Harbour.

Day 24. 8th April.

The final game of cricket.

Day 25. 9th April.

Our departure back to England was a debacle resulting in me having to fork out £400 for a new ticket on another airline.

Our Caribbean tour was over. It was a great experience. I particularly enjoyed the beaches, the climate, and the scenery. It was great to arrive at a beautiful location and jump off the back of the boat into beautiful warm waters. The let-down for me was the actual cricket which I found quite boring. I think I much prefer watching cricket on TV where you can do something else if the game is boring. Perhaps seeing 4 games in short succession was too much. I’m sure if the games were closer then it would be a different experience.

Hi Matthew, the boom netting looks awesome fun! Shame about the cricket, though.
